Water Treatment,
Water Softening, Water Conditioning, Water Filtration
|
 |
|
The term "Water Treatment" encompasses all technologies,
including purification, and “waste water treatment” by the city. The
term "Water Filter" describes a device that removes something from the water. IE: chlorine, heavy
metals, dirt, arsenic, and/or other contaminants. Water filters may be used for specific water problems. Reverse Osmosis
is known as “ultra-filtration” primarily used for drinking and cooking water and reduces the TDS (total dissolved
solids) by as much as 99%.

The terms "Water Softening" and "Water
Conditioning" are often used interchangeably in the industry and this often causes some confusion. The term "Water Softener" generally describes a device that
removes damaging hard minerals and some iron from your water. Positively charged hard mineral ions are
attracted to the negatively charged resin in the tank where they are held until “regeneration” occurs. Then sodium
chloride salt brine (or potassium chloride salt brine) removes the hard mineral ions from the resin, sending them down the
drain, along with the excess salts. This automatic process leaves your softener ready to remove hard minerals from hundreds,
or perhaps thousands of gallons of your water, as fast as you can use it. Soft water in your home requires only a fraction
of the soaps, cleaners and chemicals normally needed for cleaning and bathing, reducing labor time, also reducing
the environmental effects of all those harsh cleaning chemicals sent down the drain.

Some magnetic or electronic devices may also be termed
water softeners, although they may merely “neutralize” ions in the water, if the device is sized and used properly.
These devices do not remove hard mineral ions, but may “soften” the scale hardness left behind on fixtures and
appliances. Our Vertex “Hard Water Water Wizard” is a low cost, easy to install and use device
that uses no salt or chemicals, and changes the property of hard minerals so they stay in solution. Water World’s “Basic Plus” water
softeners use higher quality resins, tanks, valves and controls than are usually found in “Big Box Stores”,
internet, and plumbing supply houses. Although they “soften” your water, they also remove some sediment and iron,
and have easy to use controls, and require very little attention or maintenance.

Water World considers "Water Conditioning"
as a step beyond “softening”, where more than just hard minerals may be removed from your water. This is why Water
World’s “All American” Series are called “Water Conditioners”, because,
in addition to hard minerals, other contaminants like chlorine, tastes and odors, plus organic and inorganic chemicals may
also be reduced or removed through this equipment. Also, the “All American” Series uses better,
more efficient controls, using less water, less salt, and less energy than many others use. The “Imperial Gem” Series involves equipment tailored to the Rocky Mountain
run-off region, where in addition to hard minerals, many gases, chemicals and other impurities may be reduced or removed with
a single piece of highly efficient equipment, with highly cross-linked resin, and a five year service and parts
guarantee and a lifetime warranty.

Three Series of Water Treatment Systems
"BASIC PLUS", "ALL AMERICAN"
and "IMPERIAL GEM" each represent a category and grade of water treatment equipment: water softeners, water conditioners and water processing
systems, with several choices within each, all available at Water World.

The BASIC PLUS Series
includes water softeners which are long lasting and dependable for years and years. At Water World, we use
better "high standard resins", high quality mineral and brine tanks, and highly rated "Fleck" and Clack"
valve bodies and controls, and a few "Erie" and "Autotrol" valves. The "Big Box" water softeners,
and many "internet-quality" water softeners use lesser quality components that will wear out too quickly... usually
within 2 to 5 years. Then, if you can find someone qualified to service and repair them, you'll find repair costs very
high, but that will help justify your action to "throw it away and buy a new one", right? Our USA made Basic Plus
water softeners are much more durable and dependable, and should serve you 5 to 10 years before a low cost service call is
even necessary.

The ALL AMERICAN Series of water conditioners
features equal or higher grade components as found in most "National Brand" water softeners and conditioners, usually for 20 to 35% less of your money. ALL AMERICAN Water Conditioners do more than merely
"soften" your water. Low voltage, demand initiated controls, highly efficient, and quality, nationally respected
and rated valves and controls set Water World's ALL AMERICAN Water Conditioners apart from most of the competition. With
ALL AMERICAN, you are not "locked in" to a "proprietary brand" with their high service call rates (if
you can even get service). ALL AMERICAN units may be customized for chlorine reduction, as well as other tastes and odors,
pesticides, herbicides, and other organic and inorganic chemicals.

Water World's IMPERIAL GEM PROCESSOR Series are truly the PREMIUM
Water Conditioners, designed especially for Idaho and other states with Rocky Mountain water run-off conditions. Named after
the "Gem State", IMPERIAL GEM Water Conditioners feature the highest quality components available. IMPERIAL GEM
not only softens and conditions your water but is customized to your specific water conditions, whether you have chlorine
or sulphur tastes and smells, iron, arsenic, or other conditions. IMPERIAL GEM Processors feature highest grade, highly cross-linked
macropourous resin, highest quality resin and brine tanks, and highest quality valve bodies and very efficient processor controls.
IMPERIAL GEM Processors have a "no-nonsense" life-time warranty which may be honored wherever you move with your
equipment, or which may be transferred to a new owner, if you sell it with your home. The purchase of an IMPERIAL GEM Processor
includes a 5 Year Premium Protection Plan, which guarantees no cost to you for any necessary service, labor or equipment parts
for five full years.
